Waiheke’s Only Double-Decker Wine Tour – Wine, Views, Food

The wine tastings start before you even get off the bus — your sommelier pours the first tasting right there on the top deck while the island rolls past beneath you on your way. Ocean on one side, vineyards on the other, wine in your hand. It's a pretty great way to begin.

The main event starts at Batch Winery, the highest point on the island. You'll step off and sit down with a special glass of wine and a charcuterie board, with panoramic views stretching out in every direction. From there it's down to the beach for a proper wander around, grab an ice cream, shoes off, sand between your toes, that deep exhale you've been saving up. Then off to Oneroa Village — grab a coffee, duck into the boutique shops, soak up the little-town energy that makes Waiheke feel like Waiheke.

The grand finale is Mudbrick Vineyard, the most iconic vineyard on Waiheke. A final tasting with the Hauraki Gulf sparkling below you, and one of those moments where you just look around and think, "Yeah. This is it."

Departing Matiatia Ferry Terminal at 11:00am, your local guide brings the island to life with insider stories and easy-going hosting the whole way through.

⭐️ Itinerary:

Batch Winery — Views & Flavours First real stop — Batch Winery, sitting at the highest point on the island. You'll settle in with a wine tasting and a charcuterie board while panoramic views stretch out in every direction. It's the kind of place where you forget to check your phone.

Coastal Stop — Beach Time Next, a scenic cruise down to Onetangi Beach. Shoes off, stroll along the sand, grab a classic NZ ice cream. No agenda, no rush — just the island doing its thing.

Oneroa Village — Boutique Charm Then it's Oneroa Village — the little heart of the island. Wander through the art galleries, duck into the boutique shops, or sit down with a coffee and watch the world go by. Small-town energy at its best.

Mudbrick Vineyard — The Grand Finale This is the one. Mudbrick is the vineyard on Waiheke — and your final tasting comes with the Hauraki Gulf sparkling below you and Auckland sitting in the distance. One of those "just stop and take it all in" moments.

Flexible Finish We'll take you back to the ferry — or if you're not ready to leave, we can drop you in Oneroa or at a vineyard to keep the day going. Your call.

Why This Tour Hits Different:

  • Wine on the move — your sommelier pours tastings right there on the top deck between stops. No waiting around.
  • That double-decker though — panoramic views from up top while you cruise between vineyards and coastline. Nothing else like it on the island.
  • Relaxed, not rushed — free time built in, beach stops, village wandering. It's a day out, not a schedule.
